Pest Animal Management

Wildlife Unlimited is highly proficient in the establishment, implementation and evaluation of feral animal management programs for conservation outcomes. Our strong scientific skills allow us to build effective vertebrate pest management programs.

Feral animals threaten the survival of many of our precious animal species and vegetation communities. Invasive species threaten important natural values at vulnerable sites and pose great threat through predation of native species, destruction of native species habitat or vulnerable EVCs, competition for food resources and the spread of weeds and diseases.

Our pest control activities for conservation outcomes follow best practice guidelines and meet all legal requirements. We put great emphasis on safety, quality, and humane outcomes in our feral animal control services.

Approach

Our philosophy supports long term topographical and landscape scale programs, which aim to increase natural attrition and reduce recruitment leading to a steep decline in the population of the targeted species.

We keep abreast of the current research on feral animal control and have advised and assisted land managers — Government, private and community — in developing target-specific, efficient and sensitive predator control programs.

  • Our feral animal control team have high levels of expertise in control techniques such as trapping, baiting and firearms-based works.
  • Our team is proficient in on ground and aerial control works.
  • We have the technical skills and specialist equipment to implement feral cat control.
  • Our team have strong data management skills and are backed up by a team of scientists who provide high quality data management, report writing and technical fauna monitoring expertise.
