"Quollity" talk for Spot-tailed Quoll recovery

Late last year Wildlife Unlimited presented at a Spot-tailed Quoll (STQ) workshop led by the University of Queensland. The purpose of the workshop was to share recent research and conservation work occurring across the STQ range (Queensland/NSW/Vic/Tas), in both public and private sectors.

Wildlife Unlimited Senior Ecologist/Project Manager Rachael Bartlett presented to the group about our exciting STQ recovery project for Gippsland.

This was a fantastic opportunity to learn from interstate quoll experts and have some “quollity” discussions about the challenges facing the STQ in Victoria.

Building partnerships Australia-wide

Partnerships such as this are an important component of Wildlife Unlimited's Spot-tailed Quoll Recovery program. Funded in 2024 via the Victorian Government's Nature Fund, the project focuses on the last stronghold of this Endangered species - East Gippsland. We will undertake genetic assessment of captive and wild quolls and develop cross-sector, multi-agency and Traditional Owner approaches to determine immediate and long-term actions to expand the area of occupancy.
