Taking a moment to look back on two years of Spot-tailed Quoll recovery work in East Gippsland

Fieldwork, data collection, climate modelling and planning to protect Victoria’s largest marsupial carnivore.

Thanks to BioDiversity Legacy for penning a fantastic summary of our joint efforts to reverse the decline of the Spot-tailed Quoll in Victoria.

"Deep in the forests of East Gippsland, a major recovery project led by Gippsland-based ecological and environmental management group Wildlife Unlimited has concluded, providing essential data to inform future captive breeding, translocation and climate adaptation strategies…"

Phase One is complete, and we haven’t stopped thinking about quolls.

The threats of introduced predators and climate change continue, and now the threat of bird flu looms. (Quolls acquire food via predation and scavenging so are at a high risk of exposure to sick or deceased infected birds.)

Watch this space as we continue our efforts and share updates from the field.
