Wildlife Unlimited field ecologists have been working with Parks Victoria to establish new camera arrays in the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park.
Field teams tested out new Cuddelink cameras to monitor the recovery of the southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby following the 2024-25 bushfires.
Cuddelink cameras and home stations help solve the problem of arduous terrain and no phone reception via a wireless network. Multiple remote cameras link to one central home base which backs up images to an easily accessible location.
This technology will help keep an eye on the Gariwerd-Grampians rock-wallaby population and give some valuable time back to Parks Victoria rangers. Time to test out our new skills on the Gippsland Rock-wallaby population!
